Understanding Minimally Invasive Procedures
Minimally invasive procedures are cosmetic treatments that enhance the skin’s appearance with minimal recovery time and without the need for surgery. These methods aim to stimulate natural processes within the skin, such as collagen production and cellular turnover, to rejuvenate the skin’s texture and tone. They are ideal for those seeking effective, non-surgical solutions to improve fine lines, scars, and skin laxity.
Our Minimally Invasive Skin options are highly effective treatments including Microneedling and Fractora RF Microneedling and medium depth chemical peels. These treatments are ideal for revitalizing the skin, stimulating collagen production, and achieving a firmer, smoother appearance with minimal downtime. Below, we explain how these treatments work and what to expect from each.
MICRONEEDLING
Microneedling uses fine needles to create tiny micro-injuries in the skin, which trigger the body’s natural healing response and boost collagen and elastin production. This helps to improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, and overall skin texture.
Benefits of Microneedling:
• Stimulates Collagen: Promotes smoother, firmer skin over time.
• Improves Texture and Tone: Reduces the appearance of scars and pores.
• Minimal Downtime: Redness typically subsides within 24–48 hours.
• Pain Level: Mild discomfort, often described as a prickling sensation.
• Sessions Needed: Generally, 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart for optimal results.
FRACTORA RF MICRONEEDLING: ADVANCED SKIN REJUVENATION
Fractora RF Microneedling enhances traditional microneedling by incorporating radiofrequency (RF) energy. The RF energy penetrates deeper into the skin, delivering controlled heat that boosts collagen and elastin production. This makes Fractora a powerful treatment for not only improving skin texture but also tightening the skin and reducing deeper lines and wrinkles.
Benefits of Fractora RF Microneedling:
• Enhanced Skin Tightening: The RF energy component results in more significant skin tightening and firming.
• Deep Collagen Stimulation: Targets deeper skin layers for long-lasting results.
• Improved Results for Aging Skin: Ideal for addressing moderate to severe signs of aging.
• Downtime: Slightly longer than standard microneedling, with redness lasting 2–4 days.
• Pain Level: Moderate; numbing cream is typically applied to minimize discomfort.
• Sessions Needed: Often 2–4 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, for optimal results.
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS: CHEMICAL PEELS AND ALGAE PEEL
Chemical Peels: Chemical peels involve applying a solution to the skin that exfoliates and peels off the outer layer, revealing smoother, fresher skin underneath. This treatment is effective for improving skin tone, texture, fine lines, and mild scars. Unlike other forms of skin rejuvenation, peels work by working from the outside in. Downtime can vary for up to 7 days with our deeper peels, but we do offer no-downtime / more superficial peel as options for our no-downtime treatment lovers.
Choosing the Right Treatment
Each treatment offers unique benefits, and the best option depends on your skin’s specific needs and goals. Microneedling and chemical peels work well for enhancing texture with minimal recovery. Fractora RF microneedling and algae peels provide more intensive rejuvenation for those looking for deeper results. Consult with us to determine which treatment will help you achieve your skin rejuvenation goals.
Q & A
Regular miconeedling is a less invasive option out of the two and is great for anyone who is new to minimally invasive procedures looking to boost natural collagen production with minimal pain and downtime.
Fractora, on the other hand is more invasive and is coupled with radio frequency heat to provide more micro-damage and therefore more skin and collagen regeneration. This is a better option for addressing skin laxity and deeper signs of aging, or scars.
For Microneedling, we recommend 2-3 sessions, although more can be done, if desired. Sessions are spaced 4 weeks appart.
For Fractora, we recommend 1-3 sessions to start, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
For chemical peels, we recommend 1-3 sessions, spaced 4-8 weeks apart depending on the peel.
Miconeedling, Fracture and chemical peels & Algae peel are all effective treatments for the reduction of hyperpigmentation, however we recommend that our skin fit 4-6 clients consider starting a skin brightening regime 3 weeks prior to treatment series to inhibit tyrosinase (melanin production) and to ensure a safe treatment, and reduce the risk of further hyperpigmentation.
All of these treatments are acne safe, with the exception of regular microneedling. There is some controversy and debate on this topic within the skin community. For safety, we avoid micronenedling over active acne, however we can perform Fracture and peels over active acne ! For active acne, we have better options such as: Aerolase NeoClear Treatment
